Steem Power: How I doubled it in just 2 months

Got that 270 Steem Power Balance

Hello everyone, today I will be telling you how I doubled my Steem Power, from 120 SP To 240 SP. I managed to achieve this in 2 months, compared to the 9 months it took me to reach 120 SP!

Steem Power sources over time

All my first 120 SP came from posts, Either Steem Power rewards or powering up Steem/SBDs. This has changed over time and my main source of steem is now steem monsters. This is because it is a lot easier to make a good amount of steem. For example, a $2 card can fetch around 7 Steem at current market prices. This lead to a nice surplus of steem to power up from rewards and packs bought with fiat.

The Steem-Monstering

When I first got into SM, I won only a few packs. But, as I improved my deck, I managed to struggle my way to Diamond rank in the previous system. This allowed me to win a nice few gold cards, a couple rares and a legendary, as well as a fair handful of golds. I usually sell golds and rares, as the ones I have won are usually not for my standard decks. At some points I’ve had over 30 steem in my wallet at once. Another thing that has helped with this is the Power Up event for steem monsters. This event powers you up $0.20 worth of Steem for each pack you buy. This has also netted me some nice Steem Power and was the final straw in pushing me over 240SP.

Steem monsters also helped me beat the very lowest rank, Plankton III, beating it when I powered up a bit and got to ~ 170 SP, leading me into the higher status of plankton II, which made me very happy as it was my first ever SP milestone!

I chose 120SP to double as that was what I joined the Red Fish Power up league with. This made it an easy amount to pinpoint and time from!

Big thanks to the SM team for helping me on my steemit journey, oh, and of course the market for being so low at the moment!
